Is this something uou can help me with ??

  • Hello

Sorry to hear that you’ve been diagnosed with cancer but I do hope that everything goes well with your treatment.

Macmillan has a free will writing offer about which you can find further information here. The offer is with a selected legal professional who can help you write a simple will without charge.

Another option would be to see if there are other charities with a similar offer, or you may be able to get a will done through your trade union or professional body if you are a member of any. Also, consider checking with your bank if they have a service you can use.

Be aware that it may take time to get a will done and you may not be able to get it finalised before your treatment starts. If you wanted to try and get a will done before then, you may be able to get it done more quickly by going directly to a solicitor for their usual fee. If you are based in England or Wales, you can find a local solicitor by looking on the Law Society of England & Wales website:

    www.lawsociety.org.uk/find-a-solicitor/

If you are in Scotland: www.lawscot.org.uk/

If you are in Northern Ireland: www.lawsoc-ni.org/solicitors-directory/

Hopefully, one of these options will work for you but please feel free to call us if you’d like to discuss it further. Our number is 0808 808 0000 and then select option 1, then 2, then 1 again – the Financial Guides are here Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm. Or you can try us on webchat here -  click ‘Chat to Us’ at the bottom right of the screen.

    Kind regards.
