can i get any help with bills or anything else from edf energy as my wife has a brain tumour?

  • Hello Mick,

Thank you for your message. It sounds like a very worrying time for you and your wife.

This type of question may be better answered by one of our energy advisers but unfortunately, that team isn’t available on Ask an Expert at the moment.

You can call our Welfare Rights Team on 0808 808 0000 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday or 9am to 5pm at the weekend and they should be able to see if there is any support for your energy concerns. When you ring just select option 1, then 2 then 2 again to get straight through to the benefits team. For that call, please have some information about your finances ready, including income from all sources including state benefits, and outgoings, such as mortgage/rent, council tax and fuel bills.

If you have other concerns relating to your finances, like mortgage payments, claiming on an insurance policy, or worried about debts, please come back to the Financial Guides on here, or on webchat by selecting ‘Chat to us’, or by phoning us on 0808 808 0000.

I hope that we hear back from you soon.

    Take care.
