We have six month old springer spaniel - Leeloo who is an absolute delight. My husband is full retired and I’m doing part time work. He is always the hands on one with our dogs. (We only have one at a time!) So inevitable that they attach themselves to him, even though we do lots together and I try to be equally hands on.
I was diagnosed with stage 1 BC in July and have just started preventative chemo.
I’m spending more time on the couch wiped out and Leeloo who has always made a beeline for hubby, has suddenly started snuggling up next to me on the couch and sleeping. Always amazed when I see how sensitive dogs are and what full on healers they are.

  • Hi Arty Joolz  I had to smile when I read your post, your dog's name is similar to my name on these forums which is Leelaloo.  I thought you were addressing the post to me Slight smile.  You are right dogs seem to know when there is something wrong or you are not well.  I have four and they are with me all the time.  I had to take early medical retirement as I have secondary breast cancer.  They are my reason for getting up and going walking with them in the woods everyday.  My puppy namesake Leeloo is very beautiful and so cute she looks like she is hugging your leg x.  Good luck with your treatment.

  • Aw. Thanks Leelaloo! The name Leeloo is from the film 5th Element! Leeloo Dallas multipass!

she is cute and a real therapy dog! This is a live picture while I watch footie! My other love. (She’s not impressed) hope you’re doing ok and your 4 are bearing you up!

  • Hi Arty Joolz  never seen the 5th element so just googled it and I think it will be tonight's watch.  I like Bruce Willis.  Always watch Die Hard at Christmas Smiley.  Oh yes my four like food as well.  They are all lying in bed with me now.
