Overbearing guilt

Some of you may remember I rescued 4 year old terrier mix just as I was diagnosed with incruable kidney cancer I think I'm in need of reassurance as it's just me at home. I did have massive reservations but it's the best decision. We have settled into a good routine he goes to my parents for a couple of days when I have treatment, I take him 2 days at a secure dog  field twice a week for lots of off lead fun and a dog walker for a couple of days.

Having had a very anxious dog in the past I know all about boredom busters as he had to spend a lot of time in. The last 3 months I've been on a rest from treatment, but the last few weeks I've noticed  that Barney is sleeping more or not that interested in his toys, he still has boundless energy with others playing with toys getting into terrier trouble. But after his afternoon walk usual a nice 20 minute in a few hedges then I let him roam around the garden which he used to do but now his normally in with a few minutes and goes to his upstairs bed, he still engaged with his treat find but then back to sleep. Is this just him picking up that I'm not 100% or should I be concerned.
