As a recovering addict, the serenity prayer - asking God to grant me the serenity to accept those things I cannot change, has never been more relevant - nor challenged, than since my wife was diagnosed with Cancer.
Hearing the word cancer is so scary but I expected it to come with options of treatment or possibilities... not being told that we are going to loose her! Plus being terrified how ill she'll get & how we as a family will handle it.
