Yes, finally had my first good day in a month! Yippee!!
Had a stall at the a vintage fair that i do each month. Realy didn't feel up to it and wasn't going to bother but thought that i'd best act like a grown up and go! Was worried incase i got upset as have been very tearful last couple of days or that people would do my head in moaning about petty things when i'm stuggling (to put it mildly).
I'm really glad i went. My friends were lovely, warm and supportive and it was a break just being in a world that doesn't revolve around hospitals, medication or changing dressings. I even had a giggle or two and didn't feel guilty (much!).
Got home and was able to cope positively when mum rang to say that she'd changed her mind and decided not to have any treatment for her bowel cancer as the hospital had sent her the date for her pre-op appointment which she recieved friday - for the 7th. May!!! When she rang to sort it she was told that the people dealing with that department had both gone on a course but not to worry it would all sort itself out, which didn't fill her with confidence! I reminded her that the surgeon doing her op was fab etc and she agreed to go through with it as long as he does it, lets just hope he isn't off sick on the day or we're in trouble!!!
Thanks for the lovely messages of support, it has really helped and let's me know i'm not alone which has been priceless, thanks.
This site is fab and an absolute god send.
My lovely daughter ran the race for life today in memory of her grandma Joan who lost her battle and her nanna Jean who's still fighting - it's just made me cry writing that!
