Hi All

i'm new to this site and i'm worried I may have Ovarian cancer.I'm 40 and havd had probs with ovaries anyway having been diagnosed with polycystic ovaries in 1998. I've always had a biggish stomach but recently it seems bloated.It's not uncomfortable and I don't really have pains except if i've eaten something rich or time of the month. I need wee alot made worse at time of month and sex can be painful from behind (tmi sorry!).I'm on contraceptive pill Logynon. I've recently noticed that I feel really overtired although I'm on Naproxen(anti-inflammatories) for my back and they make me feel drowsy.Been on them 2 weeks and finish them tommorow. I had sciatica and extreme pain in back down to lifting heavy things at work.Doctor said I had muscular pain.The Naproxen worked a treat and my back pain has miraculously disappeared. But all the same what does this bloating feel like? is it extreme? anyone who has ovarian cancer or has symptoms please can you advise! xx

Hi, The best place to ask this question about symptoms would be the Ovarian Group. Meanwhile I would also get back to your GP and don't ask, 'TELL' him / her you need this checking out properly and get yourself a hospital referral - hopefully this will put a stop to them fobbing you off as it's doing nothing to remove your fears - anything unusual does need checking....... as you say you do seem to have several of the symptoms, but that doesn't mean you do have the dreaded C but until your GP gets their finger out (sorry about the pun) you will never know.

Hope this helps a bit, good luck chasing this up and getting some tests carried out.

Hi thank you for your reply. I haven't actually mentioned it to my Doc as yet coz I feel like a hypochondriac.I've only just recently seen him for my back prob an only this week for a small lump near coccyx bone an blood test for thyroid.Last year I had 2 seperate times of bring referred to hospitsl for a lump in breast then got checked out for a red mark on it.In the past i've had breast lumps checked out and was annoyed at my Doctors attitude when he said oh youv'd had all this before,like I was wasting his time.I thought 'are you for real?' It's coz of that attitude I fear he'l be the same if I mention my fears and possible symptoms of ovarian cancer. Anyway I am gona approach him with this and demand a CA125 test. This is scary though coz i've heard that polycystic ovaries can make the results elevated.

I will look on this other site, thanks for that.Will post how I get on. xxx
