It seems like planning for the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning never quite ends. Even before that year’s event is over, we’re starting to think about the next. And we’re not the only ones: back in February last year one of our hosts asked me what date the event would be in 2012! It is of course Friday 28 September.
I am really excited about this year’s event! I know that I say this every year, but it’s always true. At this point, with six months to go, all the wonderful coffee morning hosts that have been part of the event before will have received their first invitation to take part again. A letter in the post, an email in the inbox. There’s a flurry of activity as people rush to let us know they’re making time for what matters.
Have you been to a Macmillan coffee morning? If you have, you’ll know they’re full of the things in life that sustain us. Food. Getting to know people better. Laughter. Being with the friends and family we need, and who need us. No wonder I’m excited!
Anyway, we have over seven thousand people signed up already and I need to let them know when to expect their lovely coffee morning kit. You might be one of them? If not, we’d love you to join us; it’s going to be a great year.
