12th JULY WOUND AND CD (graphic pics)

1 minute read time.

hi everyone... not posted for a week as the wound was looking the same all the time. but this is my last week off now so i am hoping they will take me out of all this heavy dressing and get me into a lympho stocking. UI am still dressing with acticoat, gauze, pad then tubi fast, tubi net but now only a single layer of tubigrib instead of double. I am still also doing the prontosan soak and plenty of 50/50 all over the leg and healed parts of the wounds.

Lymphoedema is minimal as i am really trying to keep the leg elevated all the time so the wound finally  heals and i can get on with my life. when i do go out for appointments at the hospital or my trip to surbiton to view new apartments, the lymphoedema flairs up and the leg is double the size and in a lot of pain. no change in painkillers although this afternoon i have a drugs review with my gp.

regarding the fundraising CD.. the london branch of the macmillan fundraising team have contacted me and informed me they have approached the music industry in the past and will will contact them for me to see what we can do to get this project on the shelves for sale.

2 photos only... one before cleaning the other after cleaning. do i need to put the graphic photo warning still? i dont think they are bad anymore.. what do people think?

have a good week

Peter

thanks chris.... people who look at the first photo in my blog and compare it with the above photos cant beleive the difference.

also the doner site is almost vanished. the groin scar is now smaller and i dont have the discomfort in the groin... the same feeling is there but i guess i have come to accept it and realise it was for my own good.

cant wait to get back to work next monday

    thanks for your posts

Fantastic Pete!  What a long journey you have had to go through and how great  your leg looks now!  You also sound more 'up' in your blog and I do so wish you all the best.  You may have to live with the lymphodaema for life - my left arm is like it.  There is so much you can do to alleviate the lympho but I have decided to give my lovely arm stocking the boot as it drove me mad - my arm looked like a strong of sausages when I removed the sleeve at night and it was soooooo hot and uncomfortable.  My arm is fat now and I do the exercises as much as poss.  Also, I have to address my weight as it plays a big part in managing the swelling.  Good luck finding new apartment and good luck with the rest of your life.  Hope the music gets sorted though. Ann xxx  ps. thanks for sharing your time with us all.

Peter those pictures are incredible, - I wonder if it would be possible to eventually publish a before and after series of pictures, - so anyone starting the same journey as you could see just how wonderful the body is at healing.

You, and the nursing staff, have worked so hard and this has paid dividends.

My leg didn't look as good as that at the same stage, - but I guess all the fat on my thigh didn't help.

Pleased also to hear the lympho...... is improving -

    keep up the good work.

    xxxLynn
