JUNE 12TH WALK IN CENTRE

Less than one minute read time.

Hi

The legs have taken their toll on the lymphoedema which was bad today and i was given a strong telling off by the dressings nurse who never takes prisoners! the top part of the wound is still hurting and she has told me to make sure i tell the nurses each time if it gets worse or goes all grey like it did when they took the swab and found nast things growing there.

the dressing combination seems to be working and she has tried a smaller xupad. soon be time for big patches rather than all that padding and pads.  hope to get into lympo stocking soon too, the combination of net and double tubigrip is very very hot.

hope everyone has a good weekend.

chat soon on the new facebook group and i am still waiting for more songs

Morning Peter, your lympho. really is playing up!  I must admit when its warm it makes lympho worse - my arm looks like popye's.  I hope you have listened to the telling off - I am sure y ou don't want to lose your leg old chap - yes that's the bottom line.  You have been through a lot - you will get there in the end - just listen.  I hope you've sorted your financial situation as it takes a lot off your mind and helps the healing.  I have'nt gone back to your song list and seen all the lovely tunes we all like yet but I will, as soon as Sunday's out of the way and I've had my glass (6) of wine.  God bless, enjoy Sunday and put your leg up. Hi Peter - your leg is so swollen.  I hope you listen now and rest. Dont wanna preach but I have sat and rested with my leg elevated for nigh on 8 weeks now its been tough but i have had none of the problems you have and we have had the same op although mine is on the back of my calf (dont know if that makes any difference?)  I have been off work all this time but it has done the job and i am hoping to go back to work in two weeks time - now go put your feet up!!!!!

I have had slight lymphoedema in my arm since surgery and know how painful that was but it was nothing like yours.  You are going to have to try taking it easy and keep the leg elevated as this can help.  Have they said anything like this to you? Or whether exercising the leg will help disperse the fluid ( eg flexing and extending the leg whilst sitting?) I really hope it gets better soon, take it easy...love Chrissi xxx
