9TH JUNE WALK IN CENTRE

1 minute read time.

Hi

See below for how the wound is looking. Getting bored seeing the overgranulation and the top 1/4 is still stinging and painful when they try to remove slough. I have near finished the antibiotics and its still looking very red and angry. However there was very little exudate and there has been now for a week so maybe the fucibet is working or the antibiotics or the prontosan or.... i dont know.

double tubigrip went over minimal dressings to try and keep it all as flat as possible. a large burn site patch went over the blister as the duoderm patch from monday had just rolled down as did all the dressings from monday. but at around 2pm today i was back to square one with all the dressing down to my ankle and i just know its going to look the same when the tubigrip comes off friday morning.

got to get more painkillers, but im not sure they are doing much. the amiltryptaline is the best as it acts also as a sleeping pill and i am getting good nights sleep but in the morning the tubigrip and everything under it has gone down south so i think from tonight i am back on the sofa with my legs over the arm of the chair as i was doing when i came out of hospital, maybe its good to go back to basics.

lets see what happens friday

have a good evening

Hi Peter, good to hear how you are doing - even if you seem to be getting fed up!!! Don't blame you!  If its any help, your wound DOES look better even if you don't feel it does.  You are on the last leg (excuse the pun) of this awful journey to 'back to normal' and sometimes this part is the longest.  Do what you think by going back to basics.  I wonder whether you could put something in your bed to keep the blankets off your healing let - that way the dressings may remain.  Some kind of 'thing' at the end of the mattress to hold the blankets up just on that side.  It might be worth a try.  In any even, keep blogging, loved the music one its great to see what everyone's favs. are - you add so much to this site for us all.  One day at a time Peter, you will get there in the end.  Ann xxx

Hi Peter, I know you dont think so but your leg is looking so much better - are you on any meds for the pain? I have not had trouble with dressings slipping down although until recently my leg was quite tightly bandaged.  Why not ask about trying for the dressings I am using which are called Mepilex Border Lite - they are a showerproof adhesive dressing and I am using a very large size 6in x 6in so plenty of room for dressings underneath if needed and then double tubi grip over the top although I dont wear that around the house only if I am out - hope this helps abit!!!

Keep up the good work you are doing fantastically and have been an inspiration to me....
