11TH JUNE DRESSINGS CLINIC (graphic photos)

1 minute read time.

Hi everyone...

So this morning i go to dressings clinic dispondant that nothing is working to keep the dressings in place and they always end up around my ankle.

So we do the usual routing of prontosan soak for 10 minutes, then she debrides and cleans as much as possible before i hit the ceiling then the top 1/4 of the wound gets touched.

then fucibet cream and a double layer of jelonet. gauze then xupad. the whole leg washed and greased. a patch put on the blister to try and get it healed.

then the nurse decides we should try a tubinet before the tubigrip. see pic below... look crazy but i can honestly say that after a full day of walking around and working the whole dressing has stayed in place. of course i think my skin is going to have a permament criss cross pressure pattern all over it but i am happy that for once the dressing isnt around my ankles.

with everything going on i didnt realise that today i had run out of diclofenic painkillers.. and it was a painfull day... paracetomol just didnt cut it... i have the amiltriptaline for night time and thats a good sleeping aid too.

looking at the photo i think the lymphoedema has swollen up the leg which is nnot a good sign but with only working afternoons next week i should get a better chance of resting and elevating.

i still need a lot more songs for the cd so please add them on the relevent post here or add me on your facebook at peter_w_hills@hotmail.com and there is a link to add them there too or just message me or e mail me.

thanks for listening and have a good evening and a great weekend.

    Hi Peter,

Theres no doubt the wound seems to be healing a lot quicker. I thing the Bandage will stay in place and not roundyour ankles. Good Luck.

Take care and be safe Sarsfield.

You're getting there Peter.  Slowly but surely.  At least, as you say, you're only doing afternoons next week so you can elevate  your leg - no dancing to your song list though!  Enjoy the weekend and REST - it really is all you can do now to heal.  Ann xx
