Today ,I overheard... Don't get excited ,it is not ground breaking or juicy gossip

1 minute read time.

Today I over heard...

About nursing gradings on Chemo. New form filling procedure, manager used to it for them and they have to do it for themselves and some haven't so are not up to date. A lazy district nurse, the back story of the family experience. Where someone got a bargain. The price of coffee. That's some of it. There was no multi- tasking, paperwork for instance.

3 nurses, half an hour when I was on my own, as in the only patient. I tried to open a conversation about how I was feeling about the greater impact chemo is now having, I literally got that out, not what these impacts are, to open conversation  out and got  a ' aww, it is hard isn't it'  and conversation shut down. I felt kind of crushed.

I worked in care, I would have bitten hands off to have that  time to linger over getting someone a tea, to spend a few mins with them, to pass the time of day or to listen, whatever.

Really bloody happy to  have an appointment that went to time, got through very quickly and home in a good time, with a good travel time.I have  a feeling that I should be grateful for that, move on, it's not one I subscribe to but it's there. I  can have more than one feeling at the same time.

I am really disappointed and quite cross in what I perceive to be a lack of care when it could have been afforded.
