Today we went to Burton hospital, this time we left in plenty of time before M**’s appointment. Just in case parking was going to be a challenge. We were lucky this time, and managed to park straight away. So we sat in the car for a while, drinking coffee, and watching everyone else drive round in circles looking for a parking space. Maybe some of them were cross with us, thinking we might be leaving, but just sitting there drinking our drinks. Either way, it was entertaining.
We made our way to M**’s appointment with Mr Vakis.
Mr Vakis explained, he will try keyhole surgery, but thinks he may have to make a small incision, from left to right.
M** was given the opportunity to ask any questions, after having time to read through the paperwork, for the surgery.
We asked a few questions, but some of the questions we had, Mr Vakis said he couldn’t answer as he would know more during surgery.
But he did sound very positive and said M** could be home by Friday, although he couldn’t promise this. Mr Vakis said recovery time at home would be about 4-6 weeks.
M** signed the consent form. We left feeling positive and confident everything is going to be ok.
