Today I took M** to the treatment centre at Burton Hospital, for her pre-op appointment. The appointment was with Nurse Gail, who asked M** all kinds of questions, such as:
Are you diabetic?
Have you ever suffered any heart problems?
Have you ever suffered from a stroke?
What medication are you currently on?
Do you smoke?
Do you drink?
And other questions. Nurse Gail took M**’s blood pressure, then listened to her chest and back, and said everything sounds fine. Nurse Gail gave M** some paperwork, explaining what she can and can’t eat and drink leading up to her surgery. M** then saw another nurse, who took some blood, then did a ECG. The results from the ECG were good, and proved M** has a healthy heart.
Once we came home, M** received a phone call from the hospital, to confirm what time M** needs to be at the hospital on the 19th, the day of her surgery. It’s 07:30 in the morning, it’s going to be another early start.
