Something I wrote awhile ago.

Less than one minute read time.

I am very Interested In medieval England and have traced my ancestry back 850yr's to a man known as sir Saluayne. he was a Templar knight. If cancer had human form I believe he would have addressed It thus,

MY FRIEND'S WE HAVE BEEN INVADED BY AN ENEMY THAT TAKE'S NO PRISONER'S SO THEREFORE WILL SHOW US LITTLE MERCY. WE WHO SUFFER IT MUST BE THE SAME. WE MUST FIGHT WITH ALL OUR STRENGTH AND USE WHATEVER MEAN'S WE HAVE. SOMETIME'S DURING THIS BATTLE WE WILL SUFFER SETBACK'S AND INDIGNITIES. THIS ENEMY. THIS CANCER IS STEALTHY. AND WILL ATTACK WHEN YOU LEAST EXPECT. SO THEREFORE BE ON YOUR GUARD. HE WILL INVADE YOUR BODY AND YOU WILL KNOW IT NOT. BUT WITH FORTITUDE COURAGE AND STRENGTH OF HEART WE CAN BEAT THIS EVIL THAT CREEP'S AMONG US. SOME OF US AS IN ALL BATTLE'S WILL BE STRUCK DOWN. AND THEY SHALL BE MOURNED AND NEVER FORGOTTEN FOR THEY HAVE SHOWN THEIR METTLE IN BATTLE AND GONE BRAVELY TO THEIR MAKER. FOR THOSE OF US WHO SURVIVE THIS BATTLE. WE CAN SAY WE HAD FACED THE GREATEST AND DARKEST HOUR OF OUR LIVE'S AND LIVED TO TELL THE TALE.

I love this John! I think that is exactually how medieval folk would view this heinous disease. In fact they would think it was some form of witchcraft. I love medieval history and often wonder how they coped with all sorts of health issues. I guess they didn't very well, so if you reached the grand old age of 40 you were doing pretty well !! Marvellous you have traced your ancestors back so far. And a 'Sir' no less. You could have been royalty ;-) x
