Kicking the Leaves......

This is a follow on post from my blog entry "Never Quit Quitting"

Yesterday I bought myself a new pair of Timberland boots.  It was a personal treat to make me feel good and something I needed for the change of seasons.  I justified the cost out of the savings I have made since quitting smoking.

Now I haven't been perfect - I have had a few cigarettes.  But even when I did smoke cigarettes, I hated the taste.  I was washing my hands to remove the smell of the cigarettes also.  so even with a couple of moments of weakness, they have actually fortified my determination to quit smoking for good.  I want to get away from that taste and the smell on my hands and clothes.

So it was important to reward myself.  So at 6.30 this morning, on my way to work, I was a 54 year old kid, kicking the Autumn leaves with my new boots while also kicking the (tobacco) leaves.  No quick cigarette now on the walk to the bus stop, I am breaking the habit.  And no cigarette breath on the bus!
