My father was diagnosed with prostrate cancer about 18 months ago and had intensive radiotherapy daily for 5 weeks at the time along with hormone treatment. A few months ago he went back to the doctors as he was still losing blood and they suggested laser treatment. He has just had a further treatment and found it excruciatingly painful and has said that he will not have the treatment again as he found it to be painful and intrusive. I'm just wondering what will happen if he does not have another treatment - is the laser killing cancer cells and if so I assume they will continue to grow and eventually spread!! He is going back to the GP this evening to discuss with them.
