Last Day on The Great Wall

1 minute read time.

30th April. A day of mixed emotions as this was to be our last day's
trekking on the Great Wall. We had a lovely walk upwards through the
blossom trees and watched the lizards darting about, passing by a cave
with a dragon in it and continued up the steps to the Great Wall.

Then we went back down to the beginning and off to the other side up a very steep
slope, which again was charged with high emotions due to the physical
challenge, the pride in our accomplishment and the realisation that this
was our last day on the Great Wall.

On the way back to our hotel in Beijing we treated ourselves to a foot and leg massage, which helped our
weary limbs.

That evening we dressed up and went into the bright lights of Beijing to a restaurant called the Beijing Peking Duck, where we had acelebratory meal and were given our commemorative t-shirts confirming we had completed our challenge. We were told that as a group we had already raised over £150,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
