Today is the first day of no pills, injections, blood tests, chemo ....
Well apart from a 2 month prescription for antibiotics, but for the last 3 months I have started a new cycle on a Wednesday and had a chemo session also.
Since last time I had my final chemo combined with a blood transfusion last week, usual couple of days of not moving. Had the worst stomach cramps yet, eventually found a position I could fall asleep in but was close to going to hospital as pain was making me almost faint.
Seems like an appropriate time to reflect and there has been one thing that has helped me get through the lonely days at home and that is our cat Tygra. Do confess to not originally being a big pet person, just more chores to do. Roughly around the time of my diagnosis Tygra managed to hurt her leg and so a trip to vets shown that she had hip displasia and needed a operation. So we were both invalids together.
Tygra has started to become more social, most likely due to the amount of time I am home and now will come sit with me and look for some attention. So daily up she jumps on the sofa, pushes the iPad out my hand, stands on the laptop, or on me if I'm asleep, so I can give her head a good scratch and ruffle. Anyway the attention and interaction has definitely been a big and much needed help.
