BECOPP day2,3 hospital time

1 minute read time.

day 1 is done and I got some sleep...

Up around 6 and stomach has strange cramping feeling, not necessarily sick just my muscles tightening up. Food and drink, followed by morning meds and I seem to be back on track. As my Etoposide was at 7pm on day 1 not allowed to receive until 5pm so I now know that I won't be getting out until late afternoon fol day.

a friend from the hospital pops in, followed by mum. So I spend all afternoon with company which definitely makes time fly. Scotland beat Japan though, RWC is perfect distractio. Nic comes in at 7.30 so we can watch GBBO again some normality, and brought Ben's cookies but just didn't fancy. Get to practice injecting myself ready for the GCSF day 9-13, to think I used to black out almost at consideration of a needle.

another less than average night sleep and back-up definitely get to go home today once next Etoposide is done. Due to start at 3.15, and begin flush at 3, text Nic so she can be hear ready to leave ASAP. The usual check name, DOB, hospital number, but the chemo was out of date 9am. Had been given today's chemo Yesterday... So they now only have yesterday's chemo.

Nurses turn down my flush speed and back to unknown...

an hour later and a new batch appears, this is in date!!! So get that over and done with, a quick flush and then back to waiting for nurse to disconnect and pull out the cannula. Then the strangest thing no more formalities I can get up and go, no need for signing anything and already got me drugs. Why after everything else seemed so difficult was this so easy. Although I felt like an escapee constantly looking over my shoulder walking up the corridor expecting to be told the error of my ways.

HOME, so used to sleeping at 1, that stay up when Nic goes to bed and 15mins later asleep on couch for 3 hours... Oops. Up at 5.30 but again fall asleep on couch what a difference being home makes.

Being able to be at home makes a huge difference.

Delays in hospital are definitely part of the package, I usually spend at least 8 hours there for my chemo but luckily I do get to walk out afterwards.

Hope your next session goes quite smoothly.
