Pulling the sewing machine out of the cupboard was a bit of an effort. So much so, I pulled a few muscles. I was giving the sore area a rub when I felt a lumpy area in my right breast. After a good feel, I wasn't too concerned as it was soft, mobile and not painful in the slightest. After setting up my new sewing room, to be honest I'd quite forgotten all about the lump. And it stayes forgotten for months.
My elderly sewing machine was very dusty and I did wonder if it was going to be up to the job. However after replacing the old rusty needle, I was ready for business. At this point I hadn't considered whether I should buy a pattern or design my one. I'm stingy, so I decided to wing it.
The bags below are the first I made in over 20 years. I love colour and really enjoyed playing with the fabric. It's amazing what you can do with a few old scraps. Friends were very kind and very complimentary; I've lost quite a few over the past couple of months to expressions of "I really like that one".
