Chillies and Chinz

1 minute read time.

I don't have the time to be ill. So I decided this weekend, I wasn't.

Armed with a good nights' sleep, praise be to tamezepam, yesterday got off to a good start. By midday I had flown around the supermarket for the grocery shopping, dead headed the flowers, mown the grass, scrubbed clean the bathroom and made a Bruce Bogtrotter chocolate cake. By tea time, I had hoovered and dusted the entire house, cooked a tagine for dinner and washed all the bedding.

Today's goal was equally ambitious; plant 100 tulips, make a few bags for the shop, cook the lasagna for now and for the freezer, make some chilli and green tomato jam, do my accounts and reply to all the emails I have been ignoring. Sunday evening and it's all done, hopefully by the time I've finished writing this post the jam will have set and be in jars.

Getting ready for the op has been like preparing for a military assault and nowhere more intensively than at work. I foolishly had a couple of weeks off after I was diagnosed. Last week I was nearly where I needed to be but the gods were against me and by Friday afternoon, I was in full flap mode. Tomorrow, I have two days work to cram into one and a meeting for an hour first thing. I'm trying to tell myself that it's okay to leave what doesn't get done but I know I'll be working till midnight if I have to. Insomnia might be put to good use again.

Come Tuesday afternoon, bring on the anaesthetic. Do you think if I ask them nicely, I can be coshed for a few extra hours?

Here are some of the very girlie bags made today and available now! I'll be closing my shop BagsFromTheForest on Etsy tomorrow for a couple of weeks and I won't be taking custom orders until the pathology results are in, just in case.

(No idea why my pictures don't load up in the correct orientation. I'm stumped. You could always try looking at the pictures whilst standing on your head.)

You sound so busy! the jam and cake sound delicious, i need to do more homemade stuff.

The bags look lovely, i particularly like the blue one :)

Taking time out to digest your diagnosis sounds like a necessary thing to do, i can't imagine having to work with something like that playing on your mind.

All the very best for your operation, i will be looking out for your update, make sure you take it easy afterwards xxx

    Hi Blueeric :)

Finally sitting down with a cup of tea before the fun and games tomorrow. Have to say, after a four nights of good sleep I don't feel anywhere near as pent up as before. I'm just hoping that when the pills run out, I'll be back in a good sleeping routine. I've certainly done enough to be tired the last three days!

The blue bag is nice but I don't think it's as pretty as your bag ;)

Thanks so much for thinking of me. I'm sure it won't be long before I'm back in the swing.

Catch up soon, you take care too.
