4th post After the nanonife operation.
It’s now just short of a month ago that I had nanonife surgery to my prostrate. It feels like it was a year ago already. Two weeks after the op I travelled to London to have my post op MRI scan and today I got an email with results.
My consultant Mark Emberton says that “I have had a wonderful response to the exposure with good confluent necrosis throughout”.
I can’t say I understood this other than it sounds positive. My MRI shows a large hole in my prostrate where the cancer used to be and with this I can only hope that he got it all.
So my next move is to wait 2 to 3 months to get a new PSA test done and go back down to see him. (More waiting)
On my post op recovery,
I awake on average twice a night to visit the loo and have always a little blood in my urine. This I am told could take 3 months to stop. My prostrate is still swollen and after long prolonged periods of sitting it gets uncomfortable. I have the odd twinge in my prostrate area through the day and my frequency of trips to the loo have increased.
Erectile disfunction was a big concern of mine and so far all has been good. Not as good as before op but good enough. When ejaculating there is loads of blood so not very pleasant. Again it should clear after 3 months.
I feel tired a lot and I can sleep for hours if I can get away with it. Each day I try and have one task to do and I always feel tired afterwards. Now I believe that some of this is due to the fact that I have been sitting around doing very little since my diagnosis earlier this year so my muscles need to build up a bit again.
To conclude.
So I’m tired a lot. I have some blood and urgency when peeing. My erections are not quite as before. Other than that everything is back to normal. I just have to wait until PSA results late May 2018.
I’m going to try a little sunny break next where I will do as little as possible but start to build up muscles by walking. So far so good.
Cheers for now.
