I've just completed the third of four post-op chemo sessions and feeling not too bad.
After my last session I was still suffering slightly with neuropathy in my fingers. The oncologist decided that he would would remove the Oxaliplatin and only give me the other three drugs (Docetaxel, Leucovarin and 5-FU). I am a bit concerned that by removing that drug it makes the treatment less effective. I couldn't really get him to answer that. He said that many people cannot tolerate chemo after surgery so it was good that we had done two sessions already. He was concerned about the neuropathy becoming permanent if he continued to use the Oxaliplatin. I have trusted his judgement until now so I guess I'll have to continue to do so. I have to say I am feeling less "washed out" than I did after my last two sessions and no neuropathy this time.
One more session to go. I feel like I'm in the home stretch now.
