Hi everyone, confused and desperate, my husband has a really enlarged thyroid, front and sides, which seems to be growing every day. He is 53. And apart from stable prostate cancer, he is healthy. The gp 5 days ago ordered urgent blood tests which all came back normal. No thyroid problems, no virus or infection, no evidence of any metabolism issues, which leaves cancer. It is growing so fast, his voice has changed, he is snoring like a trooper and all we can find on the Internet that completely fits all his symptoms is apparently the worst cancer known to mankind - so fast growing it means certain death within weeks, or months. It has unknown causes, is rare but usually only affects men, and can just appear out of the blue. We were sent for an ultrasound at the hospital urgently last night by our gp and they sent him home with a "It's Friday night, wait for your ultrasound in 3 weeks." what can we do?!
