As I look up the mountain, at it’s fearfull course.
This is not the quantox, this is the Rhigos.
Many have come many have failed to climb this feared track
but some are even more courageous, because in June they will be back!.
Bikes ready kit ready
As we peer up this steep incline
It’s not often in life you say
I long to see Hirwaun
The year has been a difficult one
With injuries galore
The weak will retire
The brave will ask for more
The climb will be a tough one
On the top we’ll have a pew
As Geraint said remember this
At the top is a spectacular view
Our next challenge after this
Is Dartmouth Demon track
Rated as 8 out of 10
But we are all up, for that
There is now only 2 weeks,
Until the Dragon shows it’s might
What once was a mile away
Is now in clear sight
First will be the bwlch,
Then the Rhigos brow
But what everyone fears most
Is the, Devils Elbow.
As my colleagues will tell you all
After that it’s down and flat
The welcome sight that welcomes you
Is the view of Port Talbot.
Ask yourself what inspires you
The time , effort and cost
It’s not about us or them,
It’s about friends we’ve lost
We could all sit at home
And we could wish our lives away
Or we could get upon, a bicycle
And support McMillan cancer uk.
