Words by Alfred Lord Tennyson; music by Rani Arbo.
I first heard a choir arrangement of this song just before Christmas and then found the original on the album "Some Bright Morning" (info here, http://www.raniarbo.com/cds/some-bright-morning/ ). I bought the album (which I love... it's great to sing along with) and have been learning "Crossing the bar" on my ukulele using my own chords.
The words of the song are from Tennyson’s famous poem, which he wrote at age 81. I feel drawn to them and their allusion to passing from this world.
"And may there be no sadness of farewell, When I embark".
