Liver Secondaries Unoperable

Less than one minute read time.

Just had second opion with Liver specialist and have been told liver secondaries are unoperable.

Considering exploring the Cyber Knife option but i don't have private insurance.

is it possible to have Cyber Knife treatment privately and then return to the NHS for treatment after?

would appreciate any information.

Hi Wavey, I was very interested to read your post as I too have been reading up on the cyberknife as my dad has been diagnosed with bowel cancer spread to his liver and possibly his lungs. He has been told that they will not operate on his bowel as it will not cure him as he has spread to his liver, so they are going to try chemotherapy.

My huge problem with the cyberknife is the cost. If what I am reading is correct the cost is between 20 and 25 thousands pounds not including the consultant's fees. I really hope I am wrong in this and hope someone can comment with further information on this.

I hope you get the answers you are looking for and I will certainly keep an eye out for replies.

Best wishes to you, Christine xx
