Week 3

1 minute read time.

If I've done this right it's a blog post.

After 9 months of mis-diagnosis and appalling GP "care". I was finally referred to gynecologist on 2 week fast track by an amazing consultant at the STD clinic..Had biopsy, 8 weeks later results showing VIN3, 4 weeks later in for surgery.

Despite having done a lot of research, as sadly the consultant gives little detail, the experience so far for me has been worse than I imagined,  which was bad, I was terrified of surgery,  age 58 never had surgery before. Only the 4 hypnotherapy sessions I had got me through that.

After surgery I was informed they had not managed to get all the cancerous cells and will more than likely require more surgery.

Having said that, the first 2 weeks were not to bad, discomfort and a lot of pain killers,  even started a new hobby to while away the lonely hours.

Exactly 2 weeks I began spotting blood from wound, which was of course a Friday,  by Sunday the pain arrived, fortunately first thing Monday I booked GP appointment,  which is interesting when you can't sit and barely walk, not the best car journey,  short walk from car park took me forever as by the time I got there the pain was quite something.  Lovely GP gently took a look, could see were bleed was, not enough to be anything sinister and pointed toward infection which she gave me ABs for. That was 3 days ago, still in pain not sleeping as I can't lie on either side.  Feeling pretty rubbish.

So, it's exactly 3 weeks today. Now in bed with tv, cba to do anything else just now, probably due to being tired.  My only hope now is it will soon be better, I think many others of various surgery say week 3 is the worst, so approaching week 4 has to be better - right?
