Very Surprised.

1 minute read time.

Hi all, well I can't begin to tell you how cross I am. I was expecting a McMillam nurse to visit me this afternoon at 2pm with regard to my pain management, an appt made last Thursday after being passed on from pain management nurse at Oncology unit.

I rang the number I have and got voicemail at 3-15pm and left a message asking if there is a problem please could someone let me know. I fully understand that there may have been a real problem with an earlier appt that could have resulted in problems getting to everyone on the her list but that's why we now have mobile phones to communicate what is happening and in making another appt.

At 5pm when the office had closed I had heard nothing at all so can only assume they don't pick up their voicemails.

This is not just about me not getting the visit I was expecting but my husband had to rearrange an appt he had as he wanted to be with me. And our daughter was unable to go to her friends because we couldn't pick her up as the times clashed.

I will be trying to ring the nurse at the hospital tomorrow as I really need some help with this medication to alleviate this horrendous pain I have in my back and waiting around all afternoon did not help, but to me it is so bad mannered not to let me know what was happening.

On a much lighter note we are getting a superking size bed on Thurs and I can't tell you how excited I am about that.

Sorry to whinge love to all.

Update Family emergency and copied my number down wrong, fair enough they happen to all of us, but office would have referral letter with correct number on.

Never mind have spoken to her now and hopefully will get sorted soon.

Really looking forward to new bed, like an excited child.

    Thanks Liz.{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}} to you.

  • Whinge away... you're entitled! A good bed is SO important! We spend a third (or more) of our lives in our beds so it is important they are comfortable. I have back pain and  my (ultra-firm) bed is the only place I can find relief.

Going back to your nurses... and lack of communication... where are they? Is it because the carrier pigeons carrying your messages have been shot down in the Great War?

Have a tantrum... throw your toys out of the pram... we are all behind you!

Nurse finally got in touch and I' m waiting for another to arrange a visit, to sort these drugs out. I really feel awful today and I'm going back to bed for a while, feel sick and shaky maybe a virus.

will update on new bed soon.
