Hysteroscopy

Less than one minute read time.

Hi all,

Just wondering if there is anyone who has had an hysteroscopy done, as I have to have one on Tuesday and it sounds horrific. I am also worried about how I'll get into the right position because of pain in back due to tumour on the base of my spine and sacrum.

Would really appreciate any information anyone has.

Thanking you all.

Best Wishes. Vee.  xx

    Hi Vee,

I had a hysteroscopy in April 2009 under general anaestestic and was absolutely fine.  It's a really simple procedure (basically a d & c) but is better done whilst your are asleep as it can be very uncomfortable.  You are under the anaestetic for 15 - 20 minutes whilst they check your womb for polyps, thickness of endometriam etc.  I woke up feeling brilliant.

    Good luck with your treatment.

Hi Vee.  I can't help with your procedure although Lorraine seems to have reassured you.  I'm just letting you know that in answer to your question re travel insurance you left on my blog we used miaonline.  Had quotes from a number of companies ranging from £109 (mia covered ma as well as mum) to £3000 (insurecancer to cover just mum!).  Hope this helps.

Thank you for your comments, unfortunately this procedure is carried out under local anesthetic at my hospital, hence my apprehension.

Also thanks for reply celiswan, much appreciated.

    Take care all.

    Hi Vee,

I'm sure you will be ok even with a local as long as they freeze all the relevant areas!!!

Good luck and let me know how you go on.

    Love and hugs
