First Chemo session

Less than one minute read time.

I have my first chemo session tomorrow and I am feeling rather scared and unsure.

I know that everyone reacts differently so now one can tell me how it will affect me personally but I just wanted to share my feelings with people who I know will understand how I feel.

    Hi

the first one is scarey as you're facing the unknown because as you say everyone reacts differently. I have just finished 7 cycles and I have to say whilst I didn't escape lightly, and did have one hospital stay, overall like with most things it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Thing is we all hear the horror stories of vomiting, of which I had none just mild nausea, and being tired all the time. You do get tired easily, more so as time goes on but listen to your body, if its a good day do something if you're tired rest. The main thing is to look after yourself and rest when you need to, don't suffer in silence either, tell your team as they have something to ease every side effect you may feel.

Good Luck with the rest of your treatment.

    Hugs Maxine xx

    hi,

wishing you well 2moz. it wont be as bad as you think. i had 6 cycles of chemo .Had the last one 30th july. i had no nausea or sickness. you do feel tired and have achey legs. The worst thing i had was constipation. if you do have side effects tell the nurses and they will sort it for you.

                  Take care Teresa xx
