Day 8 Cycle 1

1 minute read time.
We went back to the hospital yesterday for the next round of chemo - we got there too early again! Anyway, it was a bit of a non-event. Hubby had half an hour of saline flush then half an hour of chemo (Gemcetabine) followed by another flush - we had a cup of tea and piece of cake and it was all over. This time no medications to take afterwards - no nausea expected. Hubby spent the rest of the afternoon working (from home). He ate a pasta dinner, had a glass of wine and felt very well. This morning he is up early as he has business meetings for most of the day - I can't tell you how pleasantly surprised I am. He also reported that his urine is back to normal colour. We have a code now; "chardonnay" for normal, "rose" for pink and "full bodied" for blood red. Well since the chemo, he is definitely "chardonnay". The stinging sensation that he felt after the biopsy has also gone. I know from experience that the chemo will have a cumulative effect and he will slow down at some point. He's got such a big op at the end of it so I'm so thrilled for him that he's able, so far, to be .. well.. 'normal'. He has two whole weeks off now before Day 1 of Cycle 2... love T ps nurses loved the lemon drizzle...
