Day 1 of Cycle 3

1 minute read time.
.. the last 'big' dose of chemo! We are now more than acquainted with the routine. Amazingly we don't arrive too early and don't have to hang around so it's only a short wait before hubby is hooked up to the drip - nice private room - lots of reading stuff and of course, the 2 laptops and blackberry. Drip, drip, drip ...the sound of the pump pushing the saline solution into hubby's veins... Hospital staff are very kind and offer us both lunch but we know better and have picnic lunch in tow. At the end of the day in the Oncology lounge hubby is assigned a private room in the private wing of the hospital (just luck) & continues the slow chemo process. He promises me he will stay until early morning - good news as I get to have a night's sleep. I picked him up at 7am next morning - nurses were a bit surprised that he wanted to leave so early (guess they think folk want to stay for brekky in the private wing...). He's feeling 'grotty'. This is probably the worst he will feel as it's the 3rd and last big chemo session (only 1 small one to go). So the fact that he's feeling 'bit nauseaus', a bit 'light headed' isn't too bad. He's not good at being ill but has still managed to continue to work albeit from home. He still eats three meals a day and has not lost his appetite. He is amazing! He has one more small chemo session to go and then a MRI scan scheduled for the end of the month to look at the results. I am cream crackered - can't crumble now though - got to build up strength for the next hurdle.... T x
