Had my first chemo yeasterday,23/7.08. I felt fine while i had it administered ,little light headed & metalic taste in the mouth . Woke this morning feeling like a different person. For a few years now i have been in constant pain with my back & neck nothing has helped but this morning no pain how very strange, i cried i was so happy my daughter was amazed she couldnt believe how well i looked.Not sure if its the steriods but i do hope it lasts its great to feel well for a change.My scars from the bi-lateral mastectomy have healed well will have recon at a later date. next chemo on 12/8/08. I have been so scared of the chemo but also wanting it to get rid of the cancer ,at the moment my body appears cancer free it had got in to the lymphatic system but not the lymph nodes so hopefully the chemo will swot the little blighters . chemo for the next six months 4x3weekly followed by 12 weekly sessions .will write a bit more as things progress

Hello again, thanks for letting us know how you are getting along! I also had chemo yesterday (but not for the first time). I hope that the pain doesnt come back - but if it is the steriods then at least you can look forward to the next chemo and a few pain free days. I hope that you remember to drink plenty to flush the toxins out - they are created when all the cells damaged by the chemo break down. Also take your sickness meds on the dot of when they are due - then it will prevent you feeling sick - dont wait to feel sick. Great that the chemo/steroids have got rid of a pain that you have been suffering for ages: that's an unexpected bonus! Good luck with your treatment, and it's good news that it's not hiding in any of your lymph nodes. Lots of love xxxx Penny
