hi every one i recieved a letter this morning from the NHS asking me to paticipate in some medical reseach & join this bio bank . they have even set up aprovisional appointment for me to attend on 13th june 09 in leeds ,it says that invitations have been sent out to 500,000 people all over the uk aged between 40 & 69 yrs .the letter says that its not to help the individual but to help future generations which is fine by me. its to help studies in the prevention of cancer,heart attacks ,strokes ,diabetes ,dementia & other serious illness's i am quite intrested in doing this just wondered if anyone else has had an invitation & what their thought's are on it . it also says about genetic testing which i have put myself forward for because of my children & grand children . just wondered what others thoughts are on this take care love theresa xxx
It sounds like a good idea. I have never heard of the scheme so it will be interesting to know what goes on and I hope you'll share this by blogging on the subject. Good for you!
