hi every one this may sound like a really silly question but when does the five year period start from . i am a bit confused on that one . does it start from diagnosis , surgery , chemo . radio . or being told you are in remisson. i know its only a stat but it is the first milestone to get through after all the treatment is finished. i have read up on breast cancer but have never seen when you start counting from . love n hugs theresa xxx

Congratulations on your remission you must being feeling good. I would set the clock if that is what you want to do from the date of your last scan/tests that your Doc would have got the info from.
As you know there is a period of time between testing and the results being given to your GP/Specialist, but I believe this would be the more accurate. I hope this helps.
I asked this question myself and was told by my Macmillan Nurse it is from diagnosis! It might be worth ringing the cancerbackup nurses to ask them on Monday though! Love Jools xx
