My best friend Keith has stage 3 malignant melenoma,with no point of origin.Has had 2 surgerys to take out lyphnodes under his left arm.Is starting radiation next week,and then need some treatment.His oncologist wants us to go talk to another in Iowa City [that specialises in melenoma]about a treatment called GMCSF,instead of INTERFERON.Has anyone out there heard of this and have any experience with it?

I'd be interested if anyone has had it for Melanoma in this country, but I suspect not.
I hope your friend does well on whatever treatment she opts for. I think GMCSF is less toxic than Interferon, but has had fewer trials to back up its use.
