liver cancer

Less than one minute read time.
Hello, My dad has been told he has a 9cm mass on his liver and that there is no treatment he can have. He is still awaiting a biopsy. He has been told it is his choice if he wants to have a biopsy. He has been told that they suspect the cancer has come from the melanoma he had 18 months ago. How can they know that without him having a biopsy? I know My Mum is worried that having a biopsy could make my Dad feel unwell.....has anyone had one and can tell me how they felt afterwards ? Thankyou so much x

Please ask your dad to go for a 2nd opinion.  I got liver cancer, both lobes have turmours on, about 7mm by size.

Its also best to go for Ct scan or PET scan.  Insist on chemo treatment, and be positive, its all about mind set.

Hold on to your faith and speak to the Almighty, ask for healing, He will hear you.

Will keep you in my prayers.  Keep well

So sorry to hear of your dad's situation.  Stage 4 metatastic melanoma is not easily treated, and there are little therapies available.  A second opinion might be a good idea, where is your dad currently being treated?

So sorry to hear about your dad.

My partner has secondary liver cancer with the primary in his bowel. When we were told this the surgeon said he was 99.9 sure it was cancer that had spread and he wasnt offered a biopsy on the liver, however they needed to do the biopsy on his bowel tumour to confirm and determine the type of cancer, The biopsy REALLY knocked him about! He actually cried with the pain. He has been offered chemo and he as had one cycle but we know it is only palliative. He will also have radio at a later date.

Im not sure about this but i have read that a biopsy on the liver can actually spread the cancer via the needle dont know how true this is but i think you should get a second opinion too.

All the best to you, keep us posted, Julie x

Sorry just wanted to add that even if your dad cant have any treatment, secondary liver can be controlled! Theres lots of different drugs they can give to control the symptoms. Take care x
