Don't work yourself up. You obviously have read up on chemo / have been told by the Dr etc, but not everybody has all the symptons so don't go worrying yourself too much. You learn to work around it & just watch your Mum for when she needs help etc. when the chemo kicks in & she gets tired. I know it's hard staying positive, but it does help. Just keep an eye on her temperature etc. The hospital is there to help so just ask & never be afraid to ask anything either. Lots of advice & support on this site so you are never alone.

hi there, chatted in chat last night briefly. My mum has just finished 6 cycles of chemo (gemcarbo) for lung cancer. She got through it very well, hair loss and tiredness where the main side effects, and she has managed to carry on almost as normal. We have had lots of family bbqs, teas, fish and chips and tried to do something small each weekend for her to look forward to. Her blood counts have been good, she has taken a honey to help with that, it was expensive and cannot be sure that it was the honey that did the trick but who knows. My mum was given a prognosis of 6 months at the beginning of June and this has been an horrendous time for us as I know doubt you will know. Would like to be here as a support for you though this time, please feel free to contact me anytime.
