Should I choose chemo?

Less than one minute read time.

After having a lumpectomy and having one infected lymph node out of ten, the surgical team and medical team are at disagreement over whether I should have chemotherapy.  I am 50 yrs old and in the middle of the spectrum.  My surgical team thinks radiotherapy and tamoxafin should do the trick but the medical team at christies think I should have chemotherapy and I have to make the decision.  I don't know what to decide.  Is there anyone else who has had this same dilemma and if so what did you decide to do?

    Hi Tina,

If you're looking for others who may have had to make a similar decision, your best bet is to post your question to the breast cancer group. I can see you're already a member, so all you need to do is click on 'new discussion'  and copy and paste your question in.

If you'd like to talk the options through, you're also welcome to give us a call on 0808 808 0000 (it's available Mon-Fri 9am-8pm). Our nurses can't tell you what's right for you, but they will be able to listen to your concerns and answer questions you may have about the different treatments.
