Post 556: It’s my life of little choices that I love.
My tv mini box in my bedroom packed up in the morning first thing. This meant that I’d need to get up and watch episodes of the Netflix series downstairs. As it happened I had to fill up the cat with his dry food and wash up a few dishes from yesterday’s food rations. By the way the fresh salmon was fab as usual, grilled quickly in a pan.
But the lack of tv upstairs in my lair was making me anxious about tonight’s tv watching ability when I retire to my bed.
How can I test what’s happening with the little box?
I started with sitting in the comfy chair in the blue lounge and eating my beakfastabix, while I ponded the options.
Because my Darling is the bill payer my options were limited to physical therapy on the big box feeding the tv downstairs; I’d have to wait till my Darling was up and about to get her to do anything regarding any call to a help line. So I finished the bowl of wheaty goodness and set about the abc of any checks for the tv box.
I found immediately that the same problem was down stairs as upstairs which was a relief as it meant that the problem was internet bound.
After removing power to the big box and pulling all the cables running between the tv to big-box to internet-box and pushing them back in and, on powering up pressed and held the side button (that I didn’t ever see before but was advised on the internet searches I did to begin with ha ha) the box lit up and the blinking blinking stopped and when the tv was turned on everything was tickety-boo. How about that.
My serious anxiety over the lack of tv tonight was probably sorted upstairs too but that was a guess which would stay unfounded till bedtime.
As my Darling made no contact nor movement when I took up tea etc. I was on my own all day with nobody to talk but the mewing cat Mr Vicious, however even he was ignoring me and he made the most of another wonderful sunny day. Gorgeous Darling…
I fear I’ve already watched too much Strictly (come Dancing) with my last comment (Gorgeous Darling…) because that a catch-phrase from the show.
Yesterday my Darling missed ‘Strictly’ while we watched ‘Lupin’, today we did catch-up with it and the imagined Saturday show was endured while we ate a kebab take away and delivery to our door.
I can now say that although my Darling finally made it downstairs it was only really to choose a meal to have delivered to the door. She didn’t look great but ate a healthy 75% of the chicken based food we both chose.
So while the contestants danced away the evening we nibbled and sat a while watching the tv together. After watching the whole of the Saturday show the results show (on Sunday) was nearly finished in real time so we carefully restarted the results show and watched even more of the same dances we saw before in a three way dance off, can you imagine, yawn!
The two that survive hugged the one that was chosen to leave the competition and it was all finished at last. It’s an ok programme but it’s stretched out over two nights for little reason, I feel.
Anyway, we watched a recorded episode of ‘gogglebox’ and with itchy feet and tired eyes we called it a day.
My Darling really isn’t well with this cold. Two days in bed so far and hardly any appetite is ok if tomorrow there’s some improvement but if it goes to her chest and gets a chest infection, like usual) the whole two weeks will be sucked up in the recovery which is horrible for my Darling. Let’s hope she rallies tomorrow.
So the tv mini-box in my room was back to normal. I reset it and unlike this morning it work perfectly. Boom! Fantastic!
Gorgeous darling!
Happy days.
Take care annnnnnnnd keep Dancing!
