Post 517: The power of a three course dinner.

The AFib lasted 19 hrs when my Darling and I got decidedly cheesed off with it and our next step was to apply ‘the pill in the pocket’ (an extra Bisoprolol tablet of 1.25mgs) and within 15 minutes the racing heartbeat was quelled to the more normal pace.

Well, I say normal pace but I mean the slow pace that gives my Doctors as much grief as my racing heart.

My resting heart rate average over the last 19 days was 48 bpm.

Let’s see what happens tomorrow at my drug review at the GP surgery. Maybe something will be said about the use of Digixin. Let’s hope so. AFib really tires me out.

The return of our trusty home help came back from his holiday to visit family after three weeks and made such a big difference to our home. He only spends two hours with us and in that time has made such a difference. His energy is well used on our ground floor and after washing the floors we are left spotless.

While he was cleaning I was on the computer and printing out another folder of 50 more blogs. Folder 7 has now been completed which is blogs 300 to 349 and is keeping my head in place of peaceful organisation.

I fact while I’ve been getting on with the folders my anxious mind hasn’t descended into the chaos and tearfulness it was suffering.

I’ll order in another set of four folders to hold another 200 blogs and complete the whole block of them done so far.

This one is 517 so that’s a blog for folder number 10.

Once I’ve caught up I can hopefully get my head straight and start thinking about the book and all its wonder.

But for now I’ll just piece together the hard copies and get a grip of what kind of life I’m leading right now.

It’s obvious I’m in a calm period of not having to consider changes to meds much, not for cancer anyway. It’s only the heart that needs a timely help from the cardiovascular department that think of me as a lost cause.

But back to the house and home. Our home help left us just after midday and promised to return in a week’s time. Meanwhile, I can get on dirtying the place as usual. I don’t mean to mess the place up, but it’s just that I do.

All that remained today was to go a do my two hours work digitising the folder I’ve been given, then get changed at home for going out to celebrate our pals 75th birthday with a dinner at the local pub/restaurant.

As it happened the pill in the pocket would allow me a calmer visit to work and that in turn made the whole evening at the pub most satisfying.

We all met up and while a beer was lubricating our decision making our eyes were pleased to scan and choose a starter a main to enjoy.

The pus reputation is good and the food tonight was fantastic. Only two of the four of us had the whole three courses and waddled home in a beautiful food coma. I beer and food with these friends was lovely and left us the last in the pub by the time the puddings of ice cream for ‘her’ and a bread pudding for ‘me’, but we didn’t care to be last out the door. We had a lovely time, and no mistake.

My gurgling tummy had by the time I got home called out for a movement and relief came soon after. This feast and famine of constipation and not, is a nightmare but right now is something I can live with.

Tomorrow is another day and then Friday is tattoo day.

My darling and I are working of that dual tattoo that shows off our loving togetherness in the shape of something Disney and beautiful. She likes the Lady and Tramp snuggling but I prefer Mickey and Minnie mouse. Time will tell which way that conversation goes. Ha ha.

You have a restful sleep and take care of yourselves.

Good night
