Post 507: Too good to be true, my new shoes.

It’s great when a plan comes together and today the plan was faultless.

Looking out of the window where cat was singing his f xx to me, or was it just the same whining about feeling hungry, ha ha.

Either way, it was my first job to silence the blinking cat before all else. It’s not always that he screams the place down but he is right now and that can be stopped very quickly.

I see the back patio is wet and guess there was a little bit of rain but it’s not amounted to much and my head continues to think positive things about a walk later as I’m a little stir crazy.

It was great yesterday to get a few weeds lifted and the grey clouds will not stop my plans for later. Just that bit of weeding had my heart soaring even though it was just a little job on those individual tree-like thistles and dandelions. They can’t grow back too quickly and by then I’ll have my back back.

I’ve come in from the serving hatch where the happy cat is munching on the first food of the day and for some reason my steroids must be kicking in after two weeks of being dosed up on them, it leads me to think about a little pre-breakfast of a rose-orange. The ones with the very thick skins and have no pips, and where the flesh is hard, sweet and very tasty.

I grab one from the net bag-of-four I’m essentially finishing off and before it gets warm in my hands it’s in my mouth being devoured.

Some oranges are really worth the whole exercise of peeling them, these are those, Waitrose pink blush oranges.

After the impromptu breaky I decided to honour my thoughts of walking around the block.

My walking buddy of late, my neighbor at number 5, Is not about and I wouldn’t bother her anyway, I feel way better than when we last went out the day I went into A&E for breathing difficulties which the new pills have now diminished to a very low level now and I want to check my lungs out.

The advantage is that today my Darling can’t see what I’m doing because she’s at work and that means, like yesterday, I can do what I like.

I get my brand new shoes on and he rest of the Autumnal clothing and grabbed a key and the two rambling sticks by the front door, set my activity settings on my watch to ‘stun’ (ha ha) and confidently stepped out the door into the cool but lovely fresh air outside.

And while I try to get into step with my sticks on the uneven pathways down to the road the watch is whirring and recording my endeavours.

Around the block in a circular route past the Co-op and my pals bungalow (which he has refurbished to the ground and now erecting a masterpiece of a two story home to die for), I might even pop in a see what’s happening this week as I have been so distant lately.

As I get into my stride and shorten the sticks slightly I find the shoes are so soft and easy to walk in I’m thinking very nice thoughts about how easy this walk around the block will be. These shoes are fab.

I get to the bungalow and find his and her car in the driveway with a larger van and I decide to pull up and ask a few questions about how the building is coming along.

Ring-ring, at least the door bell is working.

My two dear friends greet me as the van man passes me too. He’s on a mission to add a bit of oomph! to the shower with a new water pump in the loft so at least their ablutions are in the 21 century.

I don’t stay long or partake in a cuppa, they need thier space and need my exercise, so I hug them and leave them as I walk off with my new soft shoes to protect me from a possible shower of rain.

Up and down I go without much of a problem on my lungs at all, I’ve forgotten all about my breathing and am concentrating on my walking.

The sticks are now in cinque with my arms and whole body and I’m finding the whole experience comforting and helpful and by the time I’ve made it around to the final hill up to our home I’ve done 1.7 miles and have not missed one step.

I get in the door and take my new favourite shoes off still gleaming.

I make a sandwich roll and have a fresh fig Apple and a few Haribos to fill the gap I created in my tummy due to this morning’s constitutional and sit by the tv eating my fill.

I call on WhatsApp my eldest to thanks him again for the help he gave me yesterday about the spreadsheets and see that he’s resting after the city trip to Amsterdam this week with his darling.

She’s now 30 and in a week will start her treatment on that dammed  lymphoma.

After a short while I put my feet up and rest my legs and watch a bit of KDrama and get sleepy.

My dearest Darling comes in from work at 2:30pm after another gruelling shift with sleepy eyes and a mission to have a shower and get some rest this afternoon.

Another salmon dinner was the order of the day which was again fab. This time it was the slightly smoked version so hard to get on a Friday, but we succeeded and boy that was lovely.

It seems the plan to go and checkout the tattooist tomorrow is now off. We were going to sort out her Kev tattoo, but the rooms are closed on a Monday so it will have to wait for another day.

It should be exciting.

Back on my quest for exercise I’m wondering how many walks a week I can have without any problems?

I’m loving the thought that I’m stronger and fitter in my lungs now.

I shouldn’t push it but I want to be fit enough for a holiday break to the north (via Oldham hopefully) and perhaps a train and city break to Amsterdam or Brussels perhaps. What’s the harm in that?

Take care and sleep well.
