Post 459: Coccyx pain so bad I can’t feel my rib.

This will be short and sweet because I’m in so much pain around my tailbone that I can’t think about much else.

The Oramorph is in constant use now, and I’ll probably ring the hospice doctor for some advice if he doesn’t ring me first.

He is due to call.

The problem is unusual and so bad that I’m unable to get comfortable anywhere.

Even if I gathered up every pillow in the house and sat on them, the base of my spine would still hurt.

It hurts without sitting.

What I mean is…

…it hurts all on its own, regardless of the position I’m in.

I’m repeating myself.

I can barely walk and My Darling has said I should be using the stairlift, leaving her to get upstairs on her bum.

That’s because the remote controls don’t work anymore.

I never thought that would matter.

It certainly does now.

Perhaps I should make more of an effort to get the remotes working.

I’ll ring a mate this morning.

I contacted work and told them I won’t be in this week.

Oh, what am I like?

They’ve only just found me some work and now I’m off again.

I can’t be trusted at all.

They understand and have been very kind about it, but I still feel stupid because I can’t even manage two hours.

The Oramorph only takes the edge off the pain, which is something, but for a drug that’s so strong it’s amazing that it can’t get rid of it completely.

I’m sorry I’m such a misery at the moment.

It’s hard to take.

It makes me cry - not because of the pain itself, but out of sheer frustration.

I can’t do anything.

Anything for My Darling.

I hate it.

It’s not fair.

Can I leave it here today?

I can’t think of anything else to say.

Take care.

Sleep well.
