Post 433: More Worry About My Heart but a Quick Response Was Good.

Although I started the day with very low blood pressure, I ended the day happy but hot in this wonderful weather, we can’t have for much longer can we?

Where would you be without friends?

Hi Millibob, and thank you for your time.

If there’s one thing that really makes a difference, it’s a calm hand on your shoulder, especially when there’s a complex issue behind the problem you’re facing.

Accountancy is a skill and I have the basics, but only that. In talking to an expert there’s a better understanding that the hard and fast rules are there for a good reason and that there are ways that can speed up collection or rebates.

It was so nice to put a voice to a face today and chat to Brian. It also led to many hours of chatting to the insurance company who, I have to say, were very helpful and, in the end, sorted out a plan for me - after a few pertinent questions from the chat with Brian.

A very successful day’s phoning.

While that was going on there was the heat, and the temperature soared.

Flaming June at its best, for sure.

But where was the cat?

Stormy had disappeared and even though we called out, he didn’t come running.

Has he found a new home? Has he been knocked down or gobbled up by a lion?

All these thoughts and more bothered my ailing brain.

What is the matter with me?

By the time the cleaner swung in at 10:30 after missing his bus, the first thing I heard was a quick hello to me, I was reading my book downstairs with half a mind on the cat.

He swept into the kitchen with a hugely loud, “Hello Handsome,” and clearly in came Stormy to greet, not us, but the cleaner.

How very rude!

Ha ha.

But that nearly brought a tear to my eye in happiness at his return.

The cat not the cleaner obviously, ha ha.

Oh dear, I’m still not right, am I?

Getting weepy over a cat.

I left downstairs to the cleaner and headed upstairs after seeing the cat start to devour his breakfast.

I was not feeling great and decided to check my blood pressure again this morning.

It was out of sight again and my heart and brain were saying to ask for less Bisoprolol, the beta blocker, to raise my BP.

It was always the case that, for me anyway, the 2.5mg dose was too high because of my bradycardia (slow heartbeat), which is often in the 40s.

So, with a mind to feeling better on the lower dose, I would ask Anima a for advice.

I quickly got a reply and was given an afternoon appointment at the GP surgery with a doctor I don’t know.

It wasn’t too bad but was plum in the middle of my two hours at work, so I gave up on that and pressed on with the day.

It’s funny how the steroids haven’t helped a great deal with my appetite.

However, I did fancy a couple of boiled eggs in a bowl after the cleaner had done his magic.

The eggs were fab and filling, but where was my appetite?

I can weigh myself tomorrow.

Another Friday has come around already.

I know in myself I’ve not lost weight this week.

I feel I’ve actually eaten a few things like apples and proper dinners this week, so I’m happy that I’m away from my lowest drop in weight.

And with today and tomorrow still on the maximum dose of steroids, I’m so happy that the wedding will be fun and “normal” for me — as long as I take all my pills.

Ha ha.

The new doctor saw me walk into his clinic room later that afternoon and immediately grabbed some paper towel from a dispenser in the corner because I was dripping with sweat.

Oh my, I was running with it, but I mopped up admirably.

He had to be the coolest person in town and was so laid back I couldn’t believe it.

But eventually we got chatting about possible causes of my low BP.

In the end he prescribed some half-strength beta blockers and gave me loads of advice about what to eat to help me eat well.

As I say, I’m a pescatarian now with my newfound love of fish.

So he reinforced my current diet with some good food advice that will hopefully help me get fitter all over.

I’ve always liked fish but went off it, along with meat, a long time ago.

It’s time to get better foods into my diet now that I eat so little.

Anyway, that led to a wee bit of shopping and a fish or two from the fish counter in the little supermarket local to the GP’s.

So I settled down to a fresh fish supper and watched some TV with My Darling as the machines whirred and pinged in the kitchen with a week’s worth of washing.

Altogether a good day and we will see how I fare with the new dose of Bisoprolol this coming week.

Stay cool if you can.

Good night.

Take care.
