Post 289: An easy Sunday afternoon.

I got out of bed and downstairs for 2pm after a sleepy achy morning.

There was noting to do and I was warned not to step on the treadmill so I was a good boy and I did as I was told.

In fact I was suffering with little aches and pains everywhere and I worry about them with the added weakness of my arms and legs.

I know I shouldn’t focus on the bad stuff but I am determined not to mess up the holiday and it seems to me that it’s easily done and I need to be on my best behaviour if we are to enjoy the 9 days away.

When my Darling got back from work she went to bed, too tired after a long shift and so I was free to rummage about for metal bits and pieces for tomorrow’s clearance. I wonder what my mate will accept on board because I’ve seen total clearances and garden clearances where he took wood and all sorts of other bits.

I wandered around and collected a few bits and this time, because he was here before but he had little room inside his van, I got more ruthless about what shout stay or go. So I was pleased with what I did but I knew I couldn’t be too noisy in case I woke my Darling who would put pay to my fun.

We will find out tomorrow how I get on.

I returned to the tv and the texts that had come in.

None from my darling, which hopefully means she’s still asleep. Good.

She has a day off tomorrow and we had arranged to go and unearth some info about coffee and how to make it.

This morning I learned a bit about some of the words of the items involved in making a good cup of decaf.

The burr grinder is essential for the best fresh tasting coffee due to the decaf beans, and ground beans or grinds, are the worst type of product to go off, loose their taste and ferment. So my world of decaf is not only a niche market it’s also frowned upon by aficionados of real coffee (caffeinated coffee).

So I’m already missing out, but my heart doesn’t need to be tortured by caffeine.

I’m also going to find it hard to find fresh decaf beans, because they’re not popular.

Also I won’t find much of a choice, in fact there is only one to choose from at the local (is that a choice?).

What am I thinking! I’m on a hiding to nothing.

Anyway that’s for tomorrow.

One of those texts came up trumps earlier and was followed by photos of the beaches that my darling could be walking on in the next few weeks.

My friends have gone to Tenerife today for two weeks and have touched down safely and immediately enjoyed the warm sunshine on the sandy beaches.

It looks fabulous.

I’ll be pestering them for info while they’re there and look forward to a head start when we get there ourselves, three days after they get back home.

It’s very handy for us but I don’t want to bother them too much, they’re on holiday.

I should book the taxi we need to get to and from the airport very soon. It’s only two weeks away. In fact I’ll do that today.

Tomorrow I can get back on the treadmill and get a bit more exercise. I really need to be as fit as possible to get the most of being on holiday. I don’t want to be a bore and stay in all the time.

I’ve not heard from anyone about physio or a scan of my frozen shoulder but it’s early days I suppose.

At least the pain is less than it was, but that’s more that I’ve become accustomed to avoiding the main causes of pain in my shoulder. I’ve even started drinking with my left hand too. Little things help me through the day.

I had a really good sleep as I only woke up at 06:30 but I do remember having some oramorph at 01:30 to calm down all the niggles and get a better sleep.

But I suppose it’s anyway you can you do. That’s what the pain relief is there for, isn’t it?

Have a great day
