Well had my scan yesterday had to lay with glucose injection in me for an hour, then went in for the scan, luckily im not claustraphobic so was ok, half way through the scanner broke down, trust my luck i thought, anyway soon up and running again, never lied so still for so long, and i couldnt talk either 6 hours before scan and whilst having the injection, couldnt even read, apparently you have to be as relaxed as possible !!!! Thats a contradiction in terms but hey i coped!
Came home but was just so tired and hungry, my appetite never fails even with a bad bout of tonsilitis, we had a takeaway then i went to bed!
Another step nearer to finding out hopefully where the Primary site is!!!!! Another weeks wait for the results, i find this the worst bit but i realise im just one of many and i cannot fault the NHS up to now!!!

jill after reading your blog i was much the same as yourself my primary was found to be tongue based , ihad opp to remove canerous lymph gland and laser surgery to tongue .this was done exact 12 months ago july 2008 ,followed by 6 weeks radiotherapy ..whatever turns up ,you stay strong stay positive you will get there my thoughts and best wishes to you ps imust tell you i am now feeling great
Thank you for your email darling, now thats a coincidence, i have nt found anything out yet but i keep telling them that my toungue and the back of my neck hurt, the tongue feels strange on the left side same side as the lymph node they removed, its hard to describe but almost like the feeling there is an ulcer there or you have bitten your tongue, but i cant really see anything on it and the consultants have said they cant see anything obvious, they have had a good look round when i was under whilst having surgery, as yet they havent taken a biopsy, i suppose they l wait till i get my PET scan results??? But you just know dont you when something doesnt feel right within your own body???? Anyway i l defo keep you posted and on the funny side if it is my tongue well people will laugh cos i never shut up am a chatty person and love talking i do that all day in my reception job LOL!!!!
Thank you SheepDip for your reply, its very strange isnt it that a big modern technical tool like the PET scan doesnt show anything up?????? No news yet its been nearly a week since the scan im hoping to hear this week, the waiting is the worst i just want to no my fate and get on with the treatment etc!!!!!!
