MT PET Scan

Less than one minute read time.
Hi everyone, Well had my scan yesterday had to lay with glucose injection in me for an hour, then went in for the scan, luckily im not claustraphobic so was ok, half way through the scanner broke down, trust my luck i thought, anyway soon up and running again, never lied so still for so long, and i couldnt talk either 6 hours before scan and whilst having the injection, couldnt even read, apparently you have to be as relaxed as possible !!!! Thats a contradiction in terms but hey i coped! Came home but was just so tired and hungry, my appetite never fails even with a bad bout of tonsilitis, we had a takeaway then i went to bed! Another step nearer to finding out hopefully where the Primary site is!!!!! Another weeks wait for the results, i find this the worst bit but i realise im just one of many and i cannot fault the NHS up to now!!! Hope everyone s ok and remaining positive like me! Jill

Hi Jill, I've just been reading your profile and like you, I keep thinking I must have done something really bad in a previous life lol.  I was diagnosed with breast cancer at 37 and it is such a shock to be told this so young, but you get on with it for the sake of family don't you?  I understand the anxiety surrounding the waiting, that I think, is the worst.  At least when we know what we're dealing with we can face it head on.  Just you continue being positive, because according to one book I read which showed all the studies done throughout the world and the outcomes of the studies, the book ended by saying that, researchers found that out of all the studies done the people most likely to survive cancer were those who were positive thinkers (bit of a warble I know, but I know what I meant lol).

I hope everything goes well for you and please let me know how the scan results go.  Best wishes, Christine xx

Hi Jill, my first grandchild was born after I finished treatment and if I didn't want to fight beforehand, then I certainly do now.  I am nearly six years since dx and am doing well, so it just goes to show you have to give this all you've got.  Look forward to hearing from you, Christine xx

    Hi Jill,

I too was an "unknown primary" case until recently.  Had every scan going, biopsys etc and recently actually found my primary although it doesn't show up on any scans.  If the PET scan doesn't deliver any results let me know and I'll let you how I found out.  Gook luck, and keep up that greta positive attitude
